I’m a front-end engineer with over twelve years’ experience in the industry, first as a UX and UI designer, then as a developer. I’m passionate about performance, stability, and accessibility, and I love creating great user experiences.
Sound good? I also write and speak clearly about my work. I thrive in a collaborative environment. And I love learning new things.
I’ve been a front-end engineer at Wayfair since 2018, where I create solutions to critical business needs using technologies including React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, TurboRepo, Buildkite, Cypress, webpack — and of course HTML, CSS, and git.
From 2011 to 2017, I worked at NPR, where I combined the roles of front-end developer and user-experience designer, and created a variety of websites and online tools for member stations.
2024 – present The Frontend Platform Team at Wayfair is responsible for creating and maintaining the tools and libraries that enable our front-end engineers to build high-quality, performant, and accessible web applications.
What I’ve done
2022 – 2024 This is the first taste of the wayfair.com for many customers — and it’s therefore critical that we provide a great experience, which we do through constant experimentation and optimization.
What I did
2021 – 2022 As the senior front-end engineer, I led our team in decoupling the Registry site from the company’s monolith, enabling engineers to iterate faster and to create a more stable experience for our users.
What I did
2018 – 2020 You click the heart button to save items you like — which, not surprisingly, means it drives a disproportionate level of sales. Over two years, I worked on several major projects that improved the customer experience with favorites, both with the button and on the lists page.
What I did
2016 – 2017 I led user research, designed information architecture, and wrote front end code for Core Publisher, a website publishing platform for small and medium-sized NPR stations.
What I did
2014 – 2015 Before NPR released a responsive news platform for member stations, we created a mobile-only news website.
